HAI Helicopter Annual CD-ROM |
|

The Helicopter Annual (version 3.0) is published yearly and includes helicopter specifications, industry statistics, HAI membership directories by class and geographic matrix, listings of international civil aviation contacts, key Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) personnel, association committees, and much more.
The CD allows viewers to go through each section of the book electronically by clicking the sections listed on the left-hand side. Finding HAI members is also just a click away with the ‘Run a Membership Search’ box located at the bottom of the page. A complete listing of the HAI Board of Directors, as well as HAI staff is also included.
Version 3 includes an "Update" button that retrieves the latest informational updates through the Internet. The HAI Membership porttion is generally updated on a weekly basis. The "Update" button also automatically downloads next years edition when it is released without having to install another CD!

HAI Noise Abatement Training CD |
|
|
The HAI Noise Abatement Training Program will:
|
- Recognize the impact operations have on noise.
- Understand the dangers of not addressing noise concerns
- Recognize the main noise generators on a helicopter
- Recognize which noise sources dominate each helicopter flight regime
- Recognize the effect that distance has on sound
- State the effect of temperature, humidity, and wind on sound
- Recognize the impact of terrain on sound
- Recognize the steps manufactures have taken to reduce helicopter noise
- Recognize new design features being examined for future noise reduction
- Recognize the need for noise abatement
- Recognize how pilot attitude factors into noise abatement
- Relate general guidelines for reducing helicopter noise
- Recognize the role of associations in establishing and enforcing noise abatement procedures
