“Why SMS in Maintenance?” Workshop
“Why SMS in Maintenance?”, a free workshop presented by the HAI Technical Committee, demonstrates how maintenance professionals can apply a safety management system (SMS) framework to improve efficiency and reduce risk. The material covered will be of significant value to decision-makers at all levels as they strive for aeronautical excellence. This workshop will be offered on March 7 from 8:00am to 12:00pm and meets the FAA's requirements for four hours toward inspection authorization renewal.
Earning Credit Hours Toward Renewal
You can renew your inspection authorization certificate at HELI-EXPO in three simple steps:
- Pick up an inspection authorization renewal worksheet at the education course registration desk and select which sessions to attend. The education course registration desk is located in the Las Vegas Convention Center, North Hall, Level 2 (near room N253) and is open the following hours:
Friday, March 1, 1 pm – 5 pm
Saturday, March 2 through Thursday, March 7, 7 am to 5 pm
Friday, March 8, 7 am to 1 pm.
- At the conclusion of each session, have the Technical Committee monitor or course instructor sign off on your worksheet to verify attendance.
- Once you have earned at least eight hours of credit, return to the education course registration desk, submit your worksheet, and immediately receive a certificate of completion to submit to your local FAA Flight Standards District Offices or International Field Offices.
