The man was then transported to the South Rim Helibase and then the Flagstaff Medical Center.

A Coastguard spokesman said: "It was a very tricky rescue because of the very rocky foreshore at that point. Lyme Regis, England (June 13, 2009 - BYM Marine and Maritime News) - At 7pm on Friday, Portland Coastguard received a broken Mayday call from the 20ft yacht Harnser, reporting he was on the rocks somewhere between Lyme Regis and West Bay, in Lyme Bay. Portland Coastguard was only able to ascertain it was a 20ft vessel, with one person on board, on rocks and the crewman was about to abandon ship, before contact was lost.

Portland Coastguard immediately scrambled Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 106, Lyme Regis and West Bay Coastguard Rescue Teams, and Lyme Regis RNLI Inshore Lifeboat to try and locate the casualty.

Hwy. A. Deputies, Clear Lake ambulance, Prairie Farm first responders and a LifeLink helicopter all responded to the scene.  Upon arrival, Frederick Niebergall II, 32, was found about 25 feet off of the roadway.

Agusta Chronicle - Everett Matthews, a motorcyclist from Alabama, was airlifted to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital after crashing into the concrete edge of an exit ramp median on Interstate-20, shortly before 11 a.m.  According to Columbia County sheriff’s Deputy Erik Napier, the motorcycle’s footboard struck a small reflective post, which sent Mr. Matthews tumbling into the grassy area between the ramp and the interstate.  Traffic in the eastbound lanes briefly was halted to allow a Gold Cross helicopter ambulance to land.

Ambulance Service paramedics. Township crews secured a landing zone at the southwest corner of Baynes Road and 56 Avenue for the medevac helicopter.

Mercery News - DALY CITY, CA - A California Highway Patrol helicopter has rescued an injured paraglider from a San Mateo County beach.  The CHP says the unnamed paraglider hit a cliff Wednesday about 200 feet above Mussel Rock Beach and was stranded on a 2-foot ledge that was not accessible by rescue workers from the ground.  An officer was lowered from the helicopter, and the injured paraglider was hoisted up. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with moderate back injuries.

William Coty, said it was evident the man needed medical attention, and he was happy he could help him out.

Green Valley News - Border Patrol agents rescued a diabetic man Tuesday morning who became ill while hiking in a canyon near Nogales.  The man, a U.S. citizen, was hiking in Sycamore Canyon Monday evening when he reportedly began to feel sick and called the Border Patrol, according to Agent Mario Escalante, a Tucson Sector spokesman.  When BORSTAR (Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue) agents found the man around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, he was stable but in need of medical attention, he said. He was taken to Tucson hospital by helicopter.

Evening Express - A major rescue operation was launched after a climber plunged 60ft down a cliff at Findon.  An RAF helicopter, lifeboats, police teams and ambulance crews were all scrambled to the cliff.  The rescue team found the injured man at the cliffs after a fellow climber raised the alarm.  Once located, the crew of a rescue helicopter winched the injured climber aboard the aircraft before flying him to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, arriving around 10pm.

Driver rescued from burning van

BBC - A doctor and paramedic had to be doused with water while they treated a man for serious injuries trapped in a burning van in Berkshire.  Two passers-by unsuccessfully tried to pull the man free from the burning wreckage after the van came off the M4 near Reading and hit an electrical box.  Fire crews sprayed water over the driver and two air ambulance crewmen before the man, aged 51, was released.  He was airlifted to hospital suffering burns and fractures to his ankles.

BBC - Three canoeists were saved by a fishing boat after being in the sea for half an hour after capsizing.  A 999 call was made from on shore and coastguards asked the fishing boat Stingray to pick up the men.  A light aircraft circled overhead as the trio were brought ashore and then airlifted to hospital by helicopter to be treated for hypothermia.  The RAF Sea King helicopter based at nearby Valley had two further call-outs on Thursday.

The Intelligencer - A Woodsfield man thrown from his vehicle Wednesday night in Monroe County was listed today in "serious but stable" condition in Wheeling Hospital.  Kevin A. Marley, 43, was transported to the hospital by emergency medical helicopter following the crash at 7:45 p.m. on Ohio 145 in Malaga, which is south of Barnesville. Today, Lt. Roger Norris of Post 7 of the Ohio State Highway Patrol in St. Clairsville said alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.
