| Yacht breaks up in Lyme Bay after solo sailor rescued | Monday, June 15, 2009 (74 reads) Lyme Regis, England (June 13, 2009 - BYM Marine and Maritime News) - At 7pm on Friday, Portland Coastguard received a broken Mayday call from the 20ft yacht Harnser, reporting he was on the rocks somewhere between Lyme Regis and West Bay, in Lyme Bay. Portland Coastguard was only able to ascertain it was a 20ft vessel, with one person on board, on rocks and the crewman was about to abandon ship, before contact was lost.
Portland Coastguard immediately scrambled Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 106, Lyme Regis and West Bay Coastguard Rescue Teams, and Lyme Regis RNLI Inshore Lifeboat to try and locate the casualty.

| Border Patrol Agents Rescue Diabetic Hiker | Friday, May 29, 2009 (129 reads) Green Valley News - Border Patrol agents rescued a diabetic man Tuesday morning who became ill while hiking in a canyon near Nogales. The man, a U.S. citizen, was hiking in Sycamore Canyon Monday evening when he reportedly began to feel sick and called the Border Patrol, according to Agent Mario Escalante, a Tucson Sector spokesman. When BORSTAR (Border Patrol Search Trauma and Rescue) agents found the man around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, he was stable but in need of medical attention, he said. He was taken to Tucson hospital by helicopter.

| Driver rescued from burning van | Friday, May 29, 2009 (342 reads) BBC - A doctor and paramedic had to be doused with water while they treated a man for serious injuries trapped in a burning van in Berkshire. Two passers-by unsuccessfully tried to pull the man free from the burning wreckage after the van came off the M4 near Reading and hit an electrical box. Fire crews sprayed water over the driver and two air ambulance crewmen before the man, aged 51, was released. He was airlifted to hospital suffering burns and fractures to his ankles.

Kevin A. Marley, 43, was transported to the hospital by emergency medical helicopter following the crash at 7:45 p.m. on Ohio 145 in Malaga, which is south of Barnesville. Today, Lt. Roger Norris of Post 7 of the Ohio State Highway Patrol in St. Clairsville said alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash.
