Chicago Helicopter Safety Workshop for Helicopter Pilots


Alexandria, Va. - HAI, in partnership with the FAA Safety Team (FAASteam), will host a free, two-day safety seminar, Aug. 24-25, in Des Plaines, Ill. for all helicopter pilots in the Great Lakes region.

Doors and registration open at 8:30 a.m. The workshop days start at 9:00 a.m. and will run until 4:00 p.m. Pre-registration is not required but recommended.

HAI will provide coffee in the morning and a deli-style lunch in the afternoon for all attendees. Numerous handouts and safety materials will be available.

Fri., Aug. 24
Day one of the safety seminar is for professional and commercial pilots. Topics will cover helicopter accident trends, human factors, wire strike avoidance, HAI safety initiatives, and more.

Be a lifelong learner, it's what you learn after you know it all that counts.

Sat., Aug. 25
Day two of the seminar is for general aviation, flight instructors and student pilots. Topics will cover local issues affecting helicopter pilots, accident trends, personal risk assessment, HAI safety initiatives, and more.
